New Year's Eve

Image
So, I'm blogging while sitting at my mom's bedside at the hospital. She suffered yet another stroke. Not severe, speech impeding or anything but a stroke nonetheless. We are at the cusp of the new year and I feel numb. It's been a good year for me; downs to help me build character and ups like my sister's wedding to hope for a brighter future. Speaking of the future what about giant cubes for office buildings. The beauty of the cube is in its simple design.  An enlarged cubicle capable of housing multiple office workers.

Science is an art.

Science uses different formulas and concepts to prove a theory, in other words multiple solutions can be used for one problem. Similarly, art uses different forms and concepts to express thoughts, in other words multiple techniques can be used to manifest one idea. If the latter statement is true, then science is essentially an art. More on this later.

Thai food goodness.

Mom and dad were hungry so I ordered some take out from Day's Thai. I left the house shortly after dropping it off. I then picked up a book by Ray Kurzweil. I read a chapter and it was good. The book is called "The Age of Spiritual Machines" a narrative that bridges the gap between computers and religion ... and more cool stuff. On the skytrain to Richmond I daydreamed of orbs. Levitating obsidian coated spheres used for personal mobility. You sit inside one and drive it around. Good for land, air and sea travel.

Is 29th the last stop?

"Is 29th the last stop?" Is what I overheard on the skytrain today. I got off at Metrotown after a quick stop at Oakridge. I figured I could get Jie, Justine, and Jorry something for Christmas. I got Jorry some more lego blocks, Tine a Brain Age 2 DS game, and Jie a $15 iTunes card. They seemed happy. I'm slowly learning how to focus on the present. Day dreaming is an addictive thing. Feels so comfy though. I'm home. I am going to clean my room - 5S style. Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke Sort, Straighten, Standardize, Shine, and Sustain

Shopping day.

Shopping day. After a scare at the border (I forgot my passport) we drove down to Seattle Premium outlets. I had no intention of buying anything. With one exception of course, I wanted a Chrome book. I slept during the drive and dreamt about a flying fortress. A giant concrete pyramid floating in the sky. My dream effectively solved the world's earthquake problems. At the end of the day, Gloria taught me how to focus on the present and dream about the future when I'm at home alone. Effectively solving my rude daydreaming around friends.

Boxing day.

It's Boxing Day. I'm up in Cypress with Anne, Albert and Gagan.  It's Boxing Day. The same day I declared war on decay. Random thoughts floating around in my head. Ideas being generated here and there. Sometimes I pass them on to my dad. He likes them a lot. He likes amazing engineering feats. He also firmly believes I can build all these ideas with the right kind of resources. So, I talked to Albert and proposed he make his final research project at UVic based on Solar Panels. I'm going to do some homework on the same topic for funsies. Then we talk and learn from each other. Engineering is fun.

Embraco

We've had a homestay student for a while now. Smart guy. Master of Engineering in Production Engineering. We watched Django Unchained together. He explained to me the basics of the compressor. Then he told me about Embraco. http://www.embraco.com/Default.aspx?tabid=40 It's a company specializing in refrigeration. Very cool. On another note, I decided I like the Rinzler suit from Tron Legacy .

My blog's name

For anyone ever wondering where I got my blog's name from, here's a brief overview: My father opened an electronics repair shop in the late 80's in the Philippines and called it: Alphatron My brother's online signature is: betanical  I am the final piece of the puzzle. I verified and found omegaplus.blogspot.ca was already taken. So I substituted l with a 1. They look similar. And thus was born the name: omegap1us

It's Christmas

It's Christmas and all I think about is Jesus and his rightful birth as the Son of God.

White belt.

Food bank. Workout. Shower. Mall. Decided to buy a white belt. Tried it on. Liked it. Kept it. Hopefully the girlfriend approves. I saw Kim at the mall. I tagged along and did a full out rant fest about James. In retrospect the whole idea of moving in with someone who is not blood-family related is not a good idea. She agreed the fallout was due to James' erratic behaviour, some faults on my part, but more so on his. That part of my life is now water under the bridge. Done and over with. I can sleep at night.

Second Post.

Okay. So, I've got a lot on my mind. Nights when I can't sleep due to my brain activity going and never stopping like the Energizer bunny. Thoughts expressed, ideas formed, philosophy and wisdom actualized through multiple epiphanies. I'm growing smarter by the day. For weeks I wondered why. And now I know. I'm focused. I picked up a book from the library. It's titled Mobile Computing - Technology, Applications, and Service Creations by Asoke K. Talukder & Roopa R. Yavagal. I've been reading it. And it feels right. It's like I've found my calling. A fire ignited. Each page I read is a twig keeping that fire alive. When I'm done with the book. I move to the next book. Then the next. I will not stop until I've attained a superior level mastery over the subject. A Mobile Computing guru. This is my purpose. This is my gift.

First post.

So. I decided to open up yet another blogger account. Hopefully, I can keep up and post on a daily basis. Kind of like Doogie Howser. Minus the clever one-liners.
